The XVI All-Russia Strategic Planning Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: Implementation Tools and Resources" completed successfully. The Forum hosted 35 events (including 4 plenary meetings), attended by over 1000 participants.

The list of participants and guests included the representatives of federal authorities such as: Federation Council of Russia, State Duma of Russia, Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Ministry of Finance of Russia, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Ministry of Transport of Russia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia, and the heads of regional and municipal authorities. The Forum brought together representatives of 56 federal subjects and municipalities. As usual, the Forum hosted a large delegation of foreign experts – 80 participants from 20 countries.

The Forum summed up the results of four contests: City Strategies Contest 2017: Capital Cities of Federal Subjects - Kazan, Tomsk, Volgograd and Perm (admitted to final to hold in Yekaterinburg); City Strategies Contest 2017: Non Capital Cities of Federal Subjects – Angarsk Urban District (Contest Winner); Review-Contest "Strategies that Have Changed Cities" – Kotovsk and Chistopolsky District (Contest Winners according to results of the audience vote); Photo Contest "Green Mobility: Cities in Motion" – contestants from Petrozavodsk, Ulyanovsk, Peterhof, Helsinki, Kaliningrad, Ruskeala (Winners in Various Categories).

This year the special attention was given to the anniversary - 20 Years of the Strategic Plan for St. Petersburg and of Strategic Planning in Russia, celebrated within the anniversary plenary meeting at the Forum first day featuring key strategic planning experts and heads of St. Petersburg.

The first Forum results summed up at the final plenary meeting. Decided to develop Forum recommendations, based on guidelines, prepared by the events’ organizers and moderators.

All registered Forum participants (apart from the official two-day program) were able to participate in the Forum Third Day held on October 25.
